Despite the madness of being a dad to a one-year-old boy whilst dedicating my life to a full-time creative job, I clocked over 460 hours watching a total of 303 films in 2018. As a passion project, I wrote and designed Cinematic Report® – a 100-page personal book that charts 22 of my favourite films, consisting of short reviews, think pieces, and trivias. Six months in the making and as a headstrong statement that print is NOT dead, the book serves as a creative exercise beyond my daily grind.
Compiling a ‘best-of’ list is a formidable task no one should undertake unless the catalouger is a proclaimed listomaniac. To debate which movies reign supreme is also a counterproductive endeavor because everyone’s opinion differs and changes with each passing months as new movies were being released. It is the reason why Cinematic Report® is a balanced mixbag, comprising independent gems and action blockbusters. All facets of filmmaking, from screenplay to cinematography, were taken into consideration during the selection process.

Movies are routes of escapism. They are a distraction of epiphany. Only in a dimmed theatre can we momentarily depart from reality.
