Antalis, a leading paper merchant in Singapore, launched an open brief that asked designers to utilise Antalis’ brand of papers to promote the assorted range to the public. As part of my Bachelor of Design communication project, I answered the brief by creating Contexture – a publication showcasing a series of flash fictions and prose. The primary idea was to weave a textural object with stories and graphics.
The rhyme and prose in this anthology are standalone pieces yet when inspected from a macro point of view, they tell a range of occurrences to evoke a multitude of questions. It requires the readers to examine and imagine their own context of the stories inked on these new range of textured papers. Playing with the words Context, Text, and Texture, the book acts both as a catalogue and a body of fictional content.
